Christmas necklaces

We girls had to pose with our twinkly Christmas necklaces that you really can't see very well.

Thanksgiving Day part 2

Cityscape

Pittsburgh Skyline from one of the many bridges in the city.

Omni William Penn Hotel

One of the most gorgeous and historic hotels in downtown Pittsburgh, decorated for the holidays.

Christmas in Pittsburgh

A huge nativity scene in downtown Pittsburgh, which apparently has no problem with the whole state vs. religion issue.

Pittsburgh Legend

Jack's is a south-side bar that is legendary in Pittsburgh for many reasons, one of them being that it's where the scene was filmed from 'Flashdance' where the bucket of water splashes over a dancing Jennifer Beals.

Penguins

The Marriott where I'm staying in Pittsburgh is across the street from the arena where the Pittsburgh Penguins play.

Pittsburgh

Incredible view of the skyline from Mount Washington. Attending a writing conference in the Steel City.

Post-Halloween

The pumpkins and gourds get banished to the dumpster to make way for Christmas decor.

Dr. James Rhatigan

I love this man more than I can express. He is the best thing that has happened to me since coming to the WSU Foundation.

Gordon Parks project

I've helped with this project since coming to the Foundation. Now, thanks to a big donation from the Student Government Association, Wichita State and the Ulrich Museum of Art will be purchasing about 125 photographs by Gordon Parks to add to the university's collection.

Luke in living color

Luke had all the color groups covered: blue shirt, orange shorts, lime green socks and turquoise shoes, plus the purple football.

My girl

I love it when Josie comes over and says she wants to bake. Today we made two pies, apple and this pecan pie. Both were out of this world.

Fall color on campus

A massive tree east of the Rhatigan Student Center.

Welcome to the WSU Foundation

Our capable receptionist, Cathy, had some extra decorations today after an event at the foundation featuring these balloons.

Amy

I happened upon Amy in her office in the Elliott School of Communication, the office that previously belonged to Les Anderson. She looked at home. She has a wonderful view of the campus, including trees in fall color.
